Welcome to Girls Basketball!

WELCOME BACK G-BALL FAMILIES.  We are planning a 2021-2022 season. However, the Live Oak School District is still undecided as to whether they are renting gyms.  We cannot hold a season without gyms.  We will open registration on August 1 but we will delay the registration fee until we have confirmation of the gyms. Sign up and reserve a slot once registration opens.

Founded in 1994, G-Ball is the longest running girls-only basketball league in Santa Cruz County.  G-Ball offers a program which will develop and improve individual as well as team skills, promote good sportsmanship, build team spirit, and encourage healthy competition.

Exposure to the game of basketball can enhance girl’s opportunity to play at the middle school and high school level and beyond. By participating in sports, girls learn to relate more effectively to others, develop lifelong patterns of healthy physical activity, increase self esteem and confidence, set and achieve goals, respect themselves and others, accept responsibility and failure, and be gracious winners.

Our mission:  To support the positive benefits attained through the sport of basketball by emphasizing sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, and competition.

We are a non-profit organization consisting of 16 teams serving 3 divisions of girls:  3rd/4th grade, 5th/6th grade, and 7th/8th/9th grades. Our league operates during the Fall and Winter seasons from October through January.

We look forward to having you on our TEAM!

7/20/21:  Live Oak School District Board meeting will be held on August 19 at which time they will determine if they will rent their facilities. We will not be able to confirm if we can have a 21/22 GBall season until then. We will open registration August 1 in hopes that we can play this year.

We also need volunteers to help plan the season.  Please email: lesliesgball@gmail.com if you want to help.
